I booked Melissa after coming across her Instagram page and loving the timeless look of her newborn photos. She chatted to me before the shoot to help me select the right package for what I wanted and also helped me choose what to wear. On the day, she was so good with our baby, having a gentle start to the shoot by changing him, feeding him a bottle & burping him as he was all wrapped in one of her swaddles. Melissa and Brenda were so good with bubba that my husband and I just got to watch and enjoy the morning. We received a proof gallery the same day and the photos are absolutely incredible! Cannot recommend her highly enough and will be back with future babies.

Melissa was an absolute pleasure! Everything from the booking process to the day of the shoot and the photos was beautiful. We book for our newborn last minute and Melissa was not only able to fit us in pretty quickly but also was able to reschedule us when we had some medical issues come up just days before our shot day! Well, i am here with my true feelings and words for the photoshoot done with Melissa. I am very thankful because i felt very comfortable and happy with her service and she made me feel really secure everything. She dont rush the process, helps you with dressing, ask for your concern in everything, and makes you feel secure with the photo poses that you give. Make you feel more confident and satisfied. We had a great experience with Melissa for our maternity shoot. I was not planning to have one initially as this pregnancy had been quite uncomfortable but so glad I did it in the end. Melissa made the whole experience so comfortable and easy in her studio, and was very good with my uncooperative 3 year old. The photos turned out wonderful and I would highly recommend her. Mel you are incredible! The photos of our daughter’s first birthday cake smash are stunning and everything we wanted and more! You have captured every aspect of our baby girl’s little personality perfectly. It was so hard to choose which photos we loved as every single one was amazing! The whole experience was a breeze too and you took on board our vision and executed it on point. Cake smashes are a mess but you were totally prepared for the clean up - you are brilliant in every way! Couldn’t recommend you more - thank you again so much.

Melissa made us both feel so comfortable and relaxed in our shoot. I wanted a studio black and white session that looked intimate and effortless and Melissa was able to capture & create exactly what I wanted. The bonus was the experience as she was so fun and bubbly. My partner and I wanted to keep our photos for home but I can highly recommend her work as they came out better than I could have imagined. Definitely worth going with someone good as these are memories you’ll have forever.

We just had a maternity photo session and the photos are amazingly beautiful! Mel showed us how to pose and everything, to make the photos look perfect. We didn’t expect our maternity photos to be this good. Mel herself was very friendly and helpful, so our photo shoot was relaxing and fun as well. I should preface this by admitting, I don’t like getting my photo taken. Never have. Yet, I’ve just seen the final edits from our first family shoot with a newborn and his 2 big brothers. I am just blown away. Mel is immediately likeable, and makes what can feel daunting, feel and look very natural. She has a way with kids that just makes them smile. She captured the BEST of my family. She did an incredible job with our newborn. In the process, she gave us a memory that I didn’t even know I wanted. I’m grateful for the experience it was, for her time, and for giving us something truly priceless. An easy 5 stars.

My Partner and I had our first maternity shoot with Melissa Yesterday and have a newborn shoot booked in for when the baby is here, she is phenomenal with the speed, quality and comfort of the entire session and made us feel at ease the entire photoshoot. I found it extremely easy to communicate with her and had no issues getting responses and she was always super happy to answer any questions I have (I ask a lot of questions.) I was able to go and try on the outfits before the pictures too and she was flexible with times which was fantastic as we travelled quite a distance to get these photos done. Would recommend her 100% to anyone wanting maternity pictures and any other pictures done and she is also really outgoing and easy to talk to during the entire process and I'm looking forward to doing the newborn shoot with her 😁

Let me start by saying I have loved being pregnant but I am happy to never do it again. About a two weeks ago after multiple other complications I developed Bells Palsy. I considered not getting pictures taken as I didn't want to immortalize such a horrible thing. I decided to message Mel and see if she could work around it. From the second I messaged her I had fantastic response time, friendly conversations and professionalism that made me feel like I'd made the right choice. I choose Mel based on a Google search and a look at her pictures online. Don't get me wrong her portfolio is amazing, but what you experience in person is what makes Mel an amazing photographer and human. She worked with me around my Bells Palsy and made me feel comfortable and beautiful. I cannot recommend her enough and will be to any and all family and friends that are blessed with their own babies. Thank you Mel for making me feel like I can look back on this experience with fond memories ❤️

Mel has done the maternity and newborn shoots for both of my daughters, 2.5yrs apart. She is absolutely lovely and easy to work with, very quick to respond to messages. She makes the whole process feel effortless and makes you feel very comfortable in her studio. She has a huge range of props, blankets etc to use in the shoots and works with you to make sure you get the shots you want. Her turn around time for getting the photos back to you is super quick and the ones you choose are beautifully edited. I'm so happy with our photos, they are absolutely stunning.

If you are looking for a perfect photographer for either your maternity or newborn shoots Mel is your lady. The photos were amazing and the whole experience was so much fun. Mel knew exactly what we wanted and produced amazing shots. Having shoot only 2 weeks after delivery I felt at ease as Mel knows exactly what she is doing. I was amazed at how she handles babies, true baby whisperer!! Our son loved the shoot and she made sure he is warm and comfortable. Maternity shoot was also great experience. Mel has been our family photographer the past 3 years. She has watched us grow from 2 to 3 and now 4. Over the years she has taken maternity, newborn and cake smash pictures for our family and they are all memories she has captured perfectly. Went in for a maternity / twin newborn photo shoot, come out with an amazing set of photos that we will love for ever. Mel puts in so much effort to get the perfect shot, not in a hurry, has all the tools of the trade to settle the kids down for that perfect shot. We were made to feel so comfortable and welcome. Melissa was amazing from start to finish. She gave us advise prior to the session and got us to send through photos of styles we liked. When we arrived it was very much “relax” I have it from here. Walking into the studio I could see she had formed different props based on the photos we sent through, they were amazing ! I was impressed with her studio set up, so many beautiful props, blankets etc. Melissa also had an assistant on the day who was also fantastic ! They both were able to calm my baby and get him into different positions and they made us feel very much at ease. The turn around for the photos was so quick and they turned out amazing ! Usually when I go for photos I never walk away wanting any that I’m included in, I have so many nice family photos that I love ! She did an amazing job. We had the best experience, couldn’t recommend her enough!!

We had our son’s newborn photo session with Melissa last week. Our son was only 9 days old and as new parents we were quiet nervous about the photo shooting. We were very amazed by how Mel and her assistant Kristy made our baby boy comfortable and clam. Melissa was very organised with the preparations for various best matched settings for our son, very friendly, helpful and professional during the whole shooting. It was such an enjoyable and so relaxing photo shooting not only for parents but for our son too. All we had to do was just sitting and enjoying morning tea that was provided. The photos were edited and ready by next day. We are really impressed with amazing photos which will be cherished for years to come. I’m so glad that Melissa was able to do both Maternity and Newborn photo shooting for us. We will definitely be back for more photo shoots if we have another kid. Highly recommended!!!

We had a Newborn photo shoot with Melissa for our nine day old daughter this week, and it was such an enjoyable experience, would definitely recommend to others! As first time parents we were a bit nervous but Melissa is so friendly and warm and was so helpful leading up to the shoot. The photo shoot itself was so beautiful and relaxing, we really enjoyed the experience! The photos were retouched and provided within days and we are so happy with them, they are perfect. Will definitely be having more photo shoots with Melissa in the future!

Mel was amazing! The photos are great and we were so impressed how she looked after our newborn with her associate who is a midwfie. It was very professional and they made us feel so comfortable. Highly reccommend!!!

We used Melissa for our baby’s newborn photos. From start to finish, we were incredibly impressed with the care and professionalism carried out by Melissa and her helper, Kristy (who also happened to be my midwife)! Small world. They took the upmost care of my newborn during the shoot while we chilled out with our cuppas and biscuits. Bub didn’t cry once during the shoot which goes to show this isn’t Melissa or Kristy’s first rodeo and he was comfortable being with them! And lastly, the photos were phenomenal and captured my wide-eyed cheeky monkey perfectly. I already thought he was cute but, with all the props Melissa used just made bub look absolutely adorable. Something I can cherish for years to come. I’d highly recommend Melissa Larson Photography and will happily utilize her services again if we have another child. Thank you so much Melissa!!
